Walk-ins and appointments on the same chair

Most barbershops mix regulars who book with clients who walk in. Setmore describes walk-ins being added as bookings so everyone can see who is free next. In SalonDigi, add a walk-in from the admin panel as an appointment for that barber, and the online calendar stops offering that time. What it does not do is run a live queue: if walk-ins are most of your trade, a queue app may suit you better than appointments.

A service menu that matches the chair time

Give every service its own length and price, for example a 30-minute haircut, a 45-minute skin fade, a 20-minute beard trim and a 30-minute hot-towel shave. These are examples; time your own barbers. A combined cut and beard service should be listed as its own service with the combined length, so clients cannot squeeze two services into one short slot.

Each barber gets their own calendar

Set working hours and days off per barber and assign only the services each one offers, so a client looking for a specialist fade only sees the barbers who do it. The system checks a barber's existing bookings before offering a time, so the same barber cannot be booked twice for one slot.

Payments, deposits and tips stay in your till

Barbershop platforms such as Setmore and Booksy combine booking with deposits, card payments and promotion tools. SalonDigi does not take payments, deposits or tips. Use it for the branded website, online booking and reminders, and keep your card reader or point-of-sale system for the money.

Test before you share the booking link

Run this once with your real menu and hours.

1. Book your longest service near closing time and confirm the last valid start time.
2. Mark a barber's day off and check that barber disappears for that day.
3. Add a walk-in from the admin panel and confirm the slot is no longer offered online.
4. Book and cancel a test appointment and check the slot reopens.
